Matthews Eyewear Eyecare is an independently owned and operated chain of optometry practices across New Zealand's lower North Island and top of the South Island.
We currently have seven Optometry practices located in Nelson,
Richmond, Motueka and Blenheim,
Wellington, Kapiti Coast and New Plymouth.

New Plymouth
Full Time
Our New Plymouth practice trades under the name of Browning Optometrists; it has a 28 year history and a very strong and loyal patient base. It is a great location in the heart of the CBD. You'll be working with an excellent team (with two DO's) and great equipment. We are looking for either an experienced or a newly qualified Optometrist to work alongside Mike Stevens. This position is for Monday to Friday and every second Saturday morning. The applicant will need to be New Zealand registered Optometrist to qualify for this role. The position has an ideal start date of Monday 23 November 2009; although there is some flexibility.

Optometrist - Wellington
Full Time
Our Kapiti Coast practice trades under the name of Grylls & Keleher; it also has a 28 year history and a very strong and loyal patient base. The practice has four Optometrists working within it. Grylls & Keleher has a very strong name for its clinical Eyecare standards and currently we are looking to secure the services of another full time Optometrist to work alongside John Grylls and the team, enquiry is welcome from either experienced Optometrists or new graduates.
This position is full time Monday to Friday with testing on the occasional Saturday morning. This position has an ideal start date of Monday 23 November 2009; there is some flexibility with this start date. The applicant will need to be New Zealand registered to qualify for this role. | Optometrist - Richmond
Full Time
We are looking for a full time Optometrist within our busy Richmond Practice working sole charge Monday to Friday, with a DO and support team on site. Richmond is only 10 minutes from Nelson, its a great place to work with superb climate. This role has a start date of Monday 7 December 2009. With clear intentions of expansion - our need for professional
talent will extend for the next three to five years at minimum.
As a result of some exciting developments within the
group, we welcome and encourage enquiry from experienced/qualified
Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians.
Currently within Team Matthews (45 staff) we have 11 Optom's,
10 qualified or trainee dispensers and 24 support staff;
in essence we’re a cultural melting pot (of Kiwi’s, English, South
African) all contributing towards a collective 500+ years of Optics
experience across the group.
Both professions (Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians) require
registration with the NZ Registrations Board and the issuing of
Annual Practicing Certificates.

there are some entry requirements that you will need to complete,
